An Alaskan dog treat bakery gives a head start for youth with learning disabilities | INDIE ALASKA

Daisy Nicolas discovered her passion for making dog treats while caring for her beloved aging dog, Dallas. This passion blossomed into a full-time venture with Drool Central: A Mum and Pup Barkery, located in Anchorage, Alaska. As the demands of her growing business became overwhelming, Daisy forged a meaningful partnership with the Anchorage School District, employing young adults with learning and developmental disabilities.

Marc Sherman wrote and produced Season 13, Episode 3 of Indie Alaska, a joint project between UAA and AKPM. Indie Alaska is an innovative video series created by Alaska Public Media and PBS Digital Studios that showcases the unique and vibrant lives of Alaskans at work and at play. Each episode offers a genuine and lively perspective on what it means to live in Alaska, capturing the spirit and diversity of its people.
