Alzheimer’s Resource of Alaska
Alzheimer’s Resource of Alaska is the leading non-profit agency in Alaska providing crucial information, support, and services to individuals facing Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias and other disabilities, along with their families and caregivers. The organization’s influence spans the entire state, offering a comprehensive range of essential services.
✔ Web Development
✔ Social Media Strategy
✔ Branding
I redesigned and rebuilt the agency website. Re-launched alzlaska.org in October 2021.
It was crucial to create a website that effectively represents their comprehensive offerings. The new design is organized, searchable, and user-friendly for people of all ages, ensuring easy navigation and making it a true resource.
The website highlights their statewide services, including memory screenings, consultations, and care coordination for Alaskans of any age with a disability. Additionally, the site features an easily manageable event calendar, which is crucial for promoting their educational classes, webinars, professional training, and regular socialization and engagement activities.
Portals were also introduced for internal staff resources as well as the Board of Directors.
Feedback from the agency’s frontline team has been overwhelmingly positive. They’ve praised the website for becoming an invaluable resource, thanks to the organized and accessible presentation of information. The new site serves the general public and professionals, providing tailored resources to guide and support their work.
A comprehensive website is vital for showcasing everything they provide. It must be well-structured, easily searchable, and user-friendly for people of all ages to navigate effectively and access resources seamlessly.
Introducing a Blog
My redesign also introduced a blog into their website to share educational articles to enhance the organization’s outreach and impact by providing educational resources, engaging the community, improving search engine visibility, and serving as a hub for comprehensive information.
It also supports fundraising efforts, showcases ARA’s expertise, and advocates for policy changes, ultimately fostering a more informed and connected community around Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias.
Take a look at some of what I’ve written for them below or check out their blog, which I developed by coordinating with subject matter experts.
Collateral/marketing systems
I have created a variety of printed and digital collateral and marketing systems for Alzheimer’s Resource of Alaska, including brochures, flyers, posters, ads, email templates, email signature graphics, presentations, and branding material to reinforce the brand identity.
Social Media
I create engaging graphics and copy for Alzheimer’s Resource of Alaska’s social media channels that enhance its outreach, foster a supportive community, and drive its mission forward. Take a look at my most recent campaigns for alzalaska on Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn.
Promoting Events and Programs
ARA can use social media to promote events, workshops, and support groups, ensuring that more people are informed about and can participate in these opportunities. This includes fundraising events, educational seminars, and volunteer opportunities.
Providing Resources
Social media channels can serve as a repository for valuable resources, linking followers to articles, research findings, and helpful tools. This makes it easier for individuals to access the information they need.
Fundraising
I leverage Alzheimer’s Resource of Alaska’s social media channels to support fundraising efforts by sharing donation campaigns, success stories, and the impact of contributions. Social media can facilitate direct donations and encourage broader participation in fundraising events.
Alzheimer’s Resource of Alaska’s social media channels have seen substantial follower growth since I began managing them.
I implemented a combination of strategies to achieve these results, including posting quality content with engaging visuals, regular posts and campaigns, using hashtags and SEO, cross-promoting with partner agencies, and, above all, postings that add value and inspiration.
I also added Instagram and LinkedIn accounts to the agency channels.
Event Marketing
In addition to offering educational workshops, seminars, support group meetings, and social programs, Alzheimer’s Resource of Alaska also hosts the annual Amblin’ for Alzheimer’s walk. This key event raises funds, supports individuals impacted by Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias, and boosts community awareness, helping to provide vital services.

It featureed compelling storytelling, strategic use of hashtags, and partnerships with media partners to amplify reach and engagement, driving participation and donations through a variety of focused and creative campaign strategies.
Print Collateral
Essential print collateral included event flyers, detailed programs, post-card mailers, eye-catching posters, event day banners and signage, magazine ads, custom T-shirts, fundraising forms, merchandise tags, and personalized name badges to enhance both promotional outreach and event functionality.
Supporting Digital Material
Supporting digital materials included engaging blog posts, targeted e-blasts, effective text messaging campaigns, regular social media content updates, a dedicated event webpage, promotional video content, and personalized digital invitations. These strategies helped create a vibrant online presence, drove participation, enhanced donor engagement, and built momentum for the event.
Event Playbook
Creating an event playbook was crucial for organizing and executing a successful event, providing a comprehensive blueprint that outlined all aspects of event planning, from initial concepts to post-event follow-up.
This tool not only ensured consistency and helped manage resources efficiently for this year’s event, but it will also serve as a vital reference to streamline planning and enhance the effectiveness of next year’s event, ensuring continuous improvement and smoother operations.
